Brett started Mr. Breeze in October 2009 with one garage and one idea: that a heating and cooling company should be judged by whether its customers trust it. He had spent years in the trade through the 1990s and had seen what happens when contractors put sales ahead of the people they serve. For more than a year he ran the whole business himself out of his home on 13th Street in Leavenworth — answering the calls, meeting the homeowners, installing the systems. Today he leads our installation and comfort-advising work. The standard he set in that garage hasn't moved: if you don't have your customer's trust, you have nothing.
Zack W. Grossenburg
General Manager
Zack joined Mr. Breeze in 2011 as an installation helper and has since worked nearly every seat in the company — installation, service, sales, customer relations, and operations. He has been General Manager since 2020, running scheduling, the field departments, hiring, and day-to-day operations. He holds HVAC Mechanical Master and Plumbing Master licenses, EPA 608 certification, and Daikin DCP credentials, so the person managing your job has done the work himself. Raised in the Lansing and Leavenworth area, he's also the one accountable when something needs to be made right.
RM Rachel Mims
Office Manager & Dispatch Lead
Rachel runs the office and the dispatch board. If you've called Mr. Breeze, there's a good chance she's the one who answered, found you a slot, and pointed a technician at your address. She also handles permits with the cities we work in — Leavenworth, Lansing, Basehor, Bonner Springs, and Johnson County — so inspections get scheduled and closed out properly.
Brian Dillard
Comfort Advisor
Brian came to Mr. Breeze after more than 20 years helping homeowners choose the right comfort systems for their homes — work he found his way into after earning his degree from Vatterott College and spending his first years in the trade as an installing technician. Time in the field is what pointed him toward the advising side: he would rather sit down with a homeowner and walk through the options than hand over a quote. He listens first, recommends honestly, and treats every customer the way he would want his own family treated. Brian is completing his first year with Mr. Breeze. He lives in Independence, Missouri with his wife Sarah and their kids, Jackson and Ashlyn — and off the clock he coaches girls’ softball, trains, and rarely passes up a good car show.
